The opportunity

We are looking for one (1) Trainer Operations in Oyu Tolgoi People and Organization - Operational Safety Training department based at OT mine site with a roster 14 days on and 7 days off.

The purpose of this role is to provide services and support on operations trainings activities of the functional unit in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team's objectives and targeted plan.Operations Trainers will be reporting to the Supervisor Operational Training and assist with ‘On the Job” training of Concentrator personnel. They will be engaged in the coaching and mentoring of staff and competency assessment of operations employees. This person will be required to work day/night shift with Operations teams. This position fills a critical role in providing direct “On the Job” training services to Operational personnel. This person will be directly improving work routines of Concentrator Operators and directly involved in the development and delivery of training that results in ‘Competent’ staff Operator skills from basic to advanced levels.

What the role entails

Health, Safety & Environment

  • As part of the Concentrator Training Team, provide visible and felt safety leadership to operations trainees and set a personal example in terms of safe work practices and behaviors.
  • Develop a safety culture through training and personal interactions whilst ensuring that all work undertaken in areas of responsibility comply with existing safety legislation and is in full compliance with applicable HSE standards.
  • Ensure the safety of all trainees in promoting risks identification, mitigation and management.

Operational

  • Assists in the preparation of trainings & assessment materials and support continuous improvement programs. (operator career development program)
  • Schedules the delivery & coordination of training.
  • Delivers trainings as appropriate.
  • Participate in training audits and assessments.
  • Identifies, schedules & following-up on outstands trainings requirements.
  • Provides trainings reports to key stakeholders highlights trainings needs, requirements & compliance.
  • Assist the mine training group with on-the job training duties so that production and costs targets are safely achieved
  • Responsible to ensure transparency, consistency, and meaning are kept throughout the training process
  • Maintains employee trainings records on Learning Management System.
  • Manage and maintain training equipment and resources.
  • Promote a work environment that embraces open communication between operations, technical, maintenance and contractor groups.
  • Conduct and instruct on Concentrator specific HSE course and development, implementation and evaluation of scenarios and courses.
  • Liaising with both internal and external work groups, committees and stakeholders in order to remain current on training issues and associated legislation and standards.
  • Manage work relationships effectively ensuring compliance with all procedures and processes

What you will need for this role

  • Bachelor or above degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing and Chemical engineering
  • Experience in training within resource processing plant or industrial settings
  • Trainings & Assessment (TAE40110) certificate or equivalent
  • At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training
  • Ability to communicate in Mongolian and English, both written and oral
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office programs
