The opportunity

We are looking for one (1) Technician Data Processing in our Underground Geology and Geotechnical Services department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine with the roster of 14 days on and 14 days off.

The purpose of this role is to provide engineering support on geotechnical activities of the organizational unit in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team's objectives and targeted plan.

What the role entails

  • Assist in all aspects of the geotechnical programmers.
  • Daily scan data processing of the UG Mining development headings.
  • Entering to Cave cad data base for all kind of geotechnical data. Including: Results of the ground support quality control, approved ground support design, ground support installation audit etc.
  • Processing the point cloud data from 3D scanners for the using by geotechnical engineer's and transfer to the another extension of data for engineering softwares such as Deswik, Cave cad, Auto Cad and Vulcan etc.,
  • Make daily development quality reports of the excavations.
  • Assist in performs various QA/QC checks against design to verify installation quality.
  • Identifies best practice through experience, diverse learns opportunities, & accepts guidance & mentorship of the senior geotechnical officers to Prepares for future roles.
  • Ensures data collected is in a controlled scientific manner to Ensures data can be used for further analysis
  • Manage data quality control & assist in data audits/checks
  • Assist engineers and technicians with other additional tasks as required.
  • Work with own team and peers in the mine environment to ensure work is done safely and in the most efficient manner.
  • Delivering within the work areas to achieve individual and organizational success through collaboration and understanding and embracing the values (Safety, Technical, Exchange, People, Success)

What you will need for this role

  • Mining, Geology, Geoscience or relevant discipline. Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
  • Excellent performance on the current administrator role for at least 1 (one) year and above. Relevant experience typically achieved through vocational trainings and equivalent practical experience or on-the-job training.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS, Device & database software
  • Experience in managing various stakeholders from different disciplines
  • Experience in planning and scheduling would be advantage
