The opportunity

We are looking for one (1) Technician Data Processing in our OTUP - Geoscience and Services department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine with the roster of 14 days on and 7 days off.

The purpose of this role is to provide services and support on administrative activities of the functional area in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team's objectives and targeted plan.

What the role entails

  • To prepare and report QA and QC analysis on development blast and ground support. To notify and document non-conformance in the ground support.
  • To accurately import ground support design and data collected by monitoring instruments, Geology or Geotech teams into databases such as Cavecad and MDM, daily
  • To process 3D point data for convergence monitoring using Deswik, iSite, Z+F programs and to collect geo-data and to analysis report to relevant teams
  • To do intersection QC and tunnel convergence analysis and to report to relevant teams.
  • Ensures data collected is in a controlled scientific manner to Ensures data can be used for further analysis.
  • Manage data quality control & assist in data audits/checks
  • Perform ground support inspections to verify installed support in comparison to design.
  • Assist in performs various QA/QC checks against design to verify installation quality.
  • Work with own team and peers in the mine environment to ensure work is done safely and in the most efficient manner.
  • When work is completed ensure advice is sought on how to assist the team further.
  • Developing and mentoring team members through training and collaboration
  • Managing own career by being accountable for one’s behaviour, performance and development.
  • Delivering within the work areas to achieve individual and organisational success through collaboration and understanding and embracing the values (Safety, Technical, Exchange, People, Success)
  • Promoting Oyu Tolgoi’s reputation within the industry and government as a preferred partner by clear demonstration of corporate technical ability, economic credibility and commitment to sustainability.
  • Develop an understanding of the business drivers for a successful mining operation and how geotechnical engineering and geology plays an integral role in such success.

What you will need for this role

  • Bachelor’s Business Administration, or geology and mine engineering field
  • Advanced computer skills in MS, Deswic & database software
  • Experience in development and application of Project Management methodologies would be advantage
  • Experience in managing various stakeholders from different disciplines
  • Experience in developing and maintaining contents
  • Experience in working in complex organizational environments (i.e. matrix) and with remote teams
  • Experience in planning and scheduling would be advantage
