Philip Abraham
General Manager, Health, Safety, Environment and Security
Phil Abraham joined Oyu Tolgoi in August 2020 as General Manager Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES). He is responsible for implementing and promoting strategies that support a positive HSES culture and drive continuous improvement in Oyu Tolgoi HSES performance. Prior to joining Oyu Tolgoi, Phil was the HSE Business Partner for Rio Tinto Copper and Diamonds, with accountability for Argyle Diamonds, the Winu copper project and central Copper and Diamonds functions.
Phil joined Rio Tinto in 2015 at Argyle Diamonds as the HSE Superintendent before becoming the HSE Business partner in 2017. Prior to working for Rio Tinto, Phil worked for BHP in various HSE in the nickel, copper and uranium businesses. He is passionate about developing people and building inclusive teams. Phil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biological and environmental science.
