Laura Thomas

General Manager, People & Organisation

Laura Thomas is General Manager, People & Organisation at Oyu Tolgoi. She is responsible for the ongoing development of the workforce and has a particular focus on culture and capability development. Areas of responsibility include HR business partnering, total reward programme, organisational design, workforce planning, labour relations, recruitment, training, and education programmes.

Laura joined Oyu Tolgoi in May 2017, having worked for Rio Tinto since 2012 with Iron Ore in Perth, followed by a global role as HRBP for Rio Tinto Projects. Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Laura has experience as a psychologist, organisational development manager, and HR generalist across the mining, oil and gas sectors and has international experience from global roles, operating in Africa, Asia and North America.
