The opportunity

We are looking for two (2) Advisor Finance Business Partner in Oyu Tolgoi LLC Finance and Commercial Department based in Ulaanbaatar.

The purpose of this role is to analyse and provide services and support on production and project data, business performance, actual and planned propriety of spend classification, operation and capital cost against plan, solving problems and other related financial activities of the functional area in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team's objectives and targeted plan.The role provides internal stakeholders with insightful and appropriate analysis on all matters of potentially significant financial impacts to the company.

What the role entails

  • Works closely with Superintendents, Managers and General Managers in preparing the annual Plan and quarterly forecasts.
  • Work with General Managers and area managers to continuously improve financial management and the commercial acumen.
  • Provide financial analysis to the management team, to assist in determining key drivers that impact on cost variance by price, volume, efficiency changes or user error.
  • Maintain the financial model for submission to product group, shareholders and OT management including key financial metrics, all analysis and comparison reporting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of maintenance budget and forecast, providing support to annual/periodical maintenance budgeting (ZBB), reporting and cost control.
  • Separating capitalisable and non-capitalisable costs within operating budget and support fixed asset team on depreciating the capital.
  • Support business analysis teams with capital planning and reforecast and approval process and LOM and OTFS update.
  • Provide insightful analysis such as trends, sensitivity analysis, risk scenarios and assist management with mitigation.
  • Maintain month end process and ensure to have robust month end close process.

What you will need for this role

  • Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
  • Finance or Business Administration or relevant discipline.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
  • CA/Certified Public Accountant will be an advantage.
  • Business English language verbal and written skills.
  • SAP experience will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work cross functional teams.
